Scallions and Knife 6x8 oil
I had an itch to do a still life this afternoon/ evening so the scallions I bought yesterday helped to complete the story.

- My art is inspired by nature. I always had a love for the outdoors so it was just natural that my art followed that direction. I paint both on location and in the studio. My outdoor work is necessary for capturing the different qualities of light and the ever changing moods of nature. My studio work is fed by all the information I get from painting outdoors, except now I have time to think and plan at a more leisurely pace.I head to the outdoors as a stress reliever and that is exactly what my paintings are about-a peaceful retreat from life’s hectic pace.

This is a nice straightforward presentation and it really fits the subject matter. Nice rendering on both these, especially with that pop of green.
So good to see a still life that's a bit different. I would never think of using this subject matter but it really works! I particularily admire the knife blade, it's sometimes not easy to render that metallic effect, you got it spot on here. Good work!!
