The Pond, Nockamixon State Park,16x20 oil painting

The Pond, Nockamixon State Park, 16 x 20 oil painting

I had a few days in July to gather material for some new paintings. I spent one day at Nockamixon State Park, they have a small  pond in the one area of the park where I was able to sit at the picnic table and do a  5x7 sketch to help familiarize myself with the scene.

This cigar paintbox is very portable and great for when you want to do a few sketches even though you will be doing a lot of walking. The block of wood in the middle of the palette keeps the paints from smearing when the lid is shut. I have a t-nut on the bottom that attaches to a tripod when I want to use it that way.

I really like this one Pat. Great reflections and I love the way you've done the shadows on the path, they provide some movement and balance the image nicely. Sorry I missed your last post "Falls Twp Park", I'm snowed under with work and this computer is a nightmare. It's another great picture, for me you've captured that evening atmosphere so well. Nice job!!
